Papua New Guinea Economic and Fiscal Adviser

The Sub National Strategy (SNS) is a partnership between the Government of Australia and Government of Papua New Guinea (PNG) for improved service delivery for the men, women and children of Papua New Guinea. SNS is Australia’s mechanism to support initiatives of the Government of PNG that aim to improve public administration within the sub-national levels of government.

The Service Provider to the Sub National Strategy (SNS-SP) is currently seeking an Economic and Fiscal Adviser to work within the National Economic & Fiscal Commission (NEFC). Accountable to the NEFC Chairman, your primary role will be to assist in the implementation of intergovernmental financing reform, as well as provide economic and fiscal analysis and policy advice. You will also be responsible for assisting the management team to operationalise its legislated role in the new intergovernmental financing system and develop National budgetary processes.

Crucial to this role, will be your experience in public sector budgets, public expenditure management and financial analysis. In addition, you must possess the ability to develop the capacity of counterparts to fulfill the NEFC roles in intergovernmental fiscal reforms, therefore strong interpersonal and communications skills are essential.

The AusAID Adviser Remuneration Framework (ARF) applies. This position is classified as discipline C, level 3.
