RMIT is a global university of technology and design, focused on creating solutions that transform the future for the benefit of people and their environments.

RMIT offers great employee benefits such as flexible, family-friendly policies; discounted public transport tickets; subsidised gym membership; onsite childcare facilities (subject to availability); salary packaging initiatives and a generous superannuation scheme.
This new role offers an exciting opportunity for an outstanding, visionary researcher, who looks to bridge the divide between the design of audio spaces and the signal processing that can maximise audio quality and performance in a space.

The Professor of Design, Audio/Sound Engineering will be based in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. This position will combine the signal processing of audio with a solid background in the acoustics of buildings and spaces. The successful applicant should have knowledge of the acoustic properties of construction materials and spaces, audio measurement techniques, and the effect of acoustics on the proposed usage of building spaces.

RMIT is open to a variety of research in this range of spaces; however there is an expectation that the successful candidate will undertake engineering research which exploits and explores current infrastructure and facilities which include reverberant and transmission testing chambers.

As one of five new Professorial appointments in Design, together with RMIT's current research leaders with a design focus, you will cement RMIT's position as a globally competitive design research and educational institution.

All applicants are required to provide a separate statement addressing the key selection criteria in addition to providing a resume.
