Join the UNE Clinical Psychology Program to strengthen and expand the University’s research and teaching capacity in this area and to serve the needs of education in clinical psychology in regional Australia. This Program is well-established and popular with students, particularly those wanting to live and work in rural and regional areas.

The Clinical program at UNE has five full-time staff, a part-time clinic receptionist, and contributions from the other 15 Psychology staff as well as from adjunct practitioner-educators. The Clinical Psychology Program staff work closely with the other academics in Psychology and the program is integrated with the general psychology program in regards to teaching and research collaboration. There are twelve Commonwealth supported student places per year. The program provides a key pathway for education and training in Clinical Psychology in a major rural and regional centre in Australia.

The successful applicant will contribute to teaching in Psychology’s undergraduate and postgraduate clinical teaching program. He/she will supervise clinical psychology students undertaking placements in the psychology clinic, coordinate the external clinical placements and pursue an active and productive research program in Clinical Psychology.

At both Lecturer and Senior Lecturer levels, applicants will be eligible for registration as a Psychologist in Australia and for membership of the Clinical College of the Australian Psychological Society. They will have demonstrated success in teaching at the university level and may also have demonstrated experience in clinical and/or research supervision. They will also have an emerging record of achievements in research activities through publications commensurate with opportunity.

At Senior Lecturer level, the successful applicant will possess a doctorate degree of PhD in Psychology. They will also have a demonstrated capacity to generate a research programme in Clinical Psychology. At Lecturer level, the successful applicant will have completed (or be near completion of) a Masters, Doctorate or PhD in Psychology.

Armidale is surrounded by world heritage national parks, is only two hours from the mid north coast and is a unique regional centre that offers all the facilities of a much larger city. Salary: A$77,416 to A$91,751 per annum (Lecturer); or A$94,616 to A$108,953 per annum (Senior Lecturer) plus 17% employer superannuation and optional salary packaging

A 15% market loading currently applies to this position.

This loading is subject to review from time to time.
