Research Staff Member - Computer Science
Job description Research Staff Member IBM Research - Brazil is seeking both entry-level and experienced researchers in computer-related fields to conduct research in areas such as distributed systems, cloud computing, mobile technologies, analytics and optimization, and social networking. The successful candidates will be responsible for conducting research related to infrastructure, solutions, simulation, and optimization applied to areas such as: cloud computing platforms, IT-delivery systems, smarter cities infrastructure, transportation, public safety, high-performance computing systems, and mobile applications. Candidates must have demonstrated ability to define research plans, carry out leading research, and publish research results through professional journals, academic conferences, and patents. IBM Researchers are expected to formalize challenging problems, develop new technology and solutions, and work with business & development teams to ensure those have significant impact. We work together with IBM researchers worldwide and top academic partners and expect our researchers to publish results in top-tier conferences and journals as well as apply for patents. Degree: preference PhD, required MSc Experience: 0-10 years Major Fields of Study : Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or related areas.
