Senior Shift Supervisor / Trainer Zambia-Lumwana
Lumwana Mining Company located in Zambia is wholly owned by Barrick Gold Corporation and operates one of the largest new copper mines to be developed globally over the last decade. The mine is seeking a proactive Senior Shift Supervisor /Trainer in the Process Plant to be responsible for the training and development of workforce on a continuous shift roster and the effective utilization of all resources in a safe and efficient manner to achieve optimum performance. The appointee will report to the Process Production Coordinator and will be responsible for the following duties and activities:
- Promotion of site safety policies through workforce
- Production targets are met or exceeded
- Ensure plant recovery is optimized
- Develop, implement and maintain Process Operations Training systems
- Define training needs of the staff in the section to ensure progression to senior positions.
- Provide technical and supervisory input to the department work groups
- Participate in the department and promotion of the departmental continuous improvement programs
- Develop and review relevant JSAs, SOPs and training manuals
Skills & Abilities
The successful applicant must have the following qualifications/skills:
- Tertiary qualifications, trainer assessor cert IV a distinct advantage
- 10 years experience in Senior Process Operations
- A minimum 3 years in a senior training role
- Computer literate
- Prior exposure to modern safety management practices and processes
