Programme Officer, Angola
Reporting to the Country Director, the Programme Officer’s role involves a wide range of responsibilities including proposal and report writing, grant administration and information management, as well as managing around three national staff members. The role also involves providing administrative support to the programme and assisting the Country Director in seeking to develop further funding streams for the programme, such as from commercial / corporate donors. You will therefore need to demonstrate previous experience in these areas of work.
In addition the successful candidates will have experience of working overseas, preferably within the region, and be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as the ability to network to support business development in the programme. The ability to produce written material of a high quality and prioritize a heavy workload to meet deadlines is essential. You will also need to be able to demonstrate awareness of personal security, cultural sensitivities and a diplomatic manner. Portuguese language skills would be advantageous for this role, though not essential. The post-holders time will split around 50/50 between MAG’s operational base in Luena and MAG’s support office in Luanda.
