Advisor, Program Budget - Pan American Health Organization

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is an international public health agency with over 100 years of experience in working to improve health and living standards of the countries of the Americas. It serves as the specialized organization for health of the Inter-American System. It also serves as the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization and enjoys international recognition as part of the United Nations system.

PAHO/WHO is currently seeking an Advisor, Program Budget in the Planning Budget and Resource Coordination Office, in Washington, DC, U.S.A., who will be responsible for planning, formulating and preparing the Organization’s program budget.

Minimum requirements for this post are:

  • A bachelor's and a master’s degree in public administration, business administration, management, public policy/economics or related discipline from a recognized university.
  • Nine years of combined national and international progressively responsible professional experience in the development of and management of program budget, formulation and control. Experience should include supervising personnel working with complex data systems, such as those supporting planning, programming, assessment and financial management processes.
  • Very good knowledge of Spanish or English with a working knowledge of the other language.

The salary range for this position is US$67,483.00-US$72,467.00, net of income taxes (plus post adjustment). PAHO/WHO offers an internationally competitive compensation package, including six weeks paid vacation, an excellent pension plan, and health insurance.
