We promote democracy, advance development and celebrate diversity. We are the Commonwealth – an association of 54 member countries who share the common values of peace, security and sustainable development.

Our Economic Affairs Division helps member countries to improve economic management and governance. You will join a team of seven focussing on the economic development of small states including advocacy; policy analysis and support; capacity building to increase economic resilience; and environmentally sustainable development.

Your role will be to advise on economic vulnerability and resilience building; prepare the annual review, basic statistics and high-level consultations; and develop and implement programmes, projects, publications, briefings and outreach addresses on the high-priority concerns of member small states.

With a post-graduate qualification in economics, which includes a strong quantitative element, you must have several years’ national and international, small state sustainable development policy experience. This must be supported by effective verbal and written communication skills at all levels including government officials, politicians and agencies as well as experience of advocacy of small states’ concerns with governments.

You must be able to operate effectively in our multi-cultural setting and be a national of a Commonwealth country.
