Objectives

The incumbent EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN is assigned to work under the supervision of the Principle ICT Assets supervisor of the ICT department (CIMM). The objective of the position is to provide support and maintenance to all the ICT Assets for the Bank located in various locations. In addition, testing, configuration and integration of new corporate hardware and software prior to introduction into the production environment.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Resolve and Repair or replace the defective computers, keyboards, monitors, printers, etc... after undertaking full-range of analytical and problem solving processes and identifying causes of incident.
  • Assist the supervisor in maintaining the ICT Assets inventories and monitoring movements
  • Diagnose any malfunctioning parts of the computer, printer and other peripheral equipment and identify correct or repair the break the default to ensure that problem are adequately resolved
  • Ensure that users are assisted within established time frames especially for the response and resolution time agreed to in the objectives and Service Level Agreement document.
  • Test the PCs and printers, monitors and new equipment to ensure that it is in good running conditions before the distribution and installation in user locations.
  • For new or replacement laptops, ensure that the users have access to all the applications they had before in their previous one, and all the data and information is effectively copied to the new one.
  • Works closely with the ICT equipment services providers for the maintenance and repairs of equipment taken out for service.
  • Distribute and install the equipment in users’ offices and resolve configuration and integration issues related to the network connectivity.

Selection Criteria

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the field of IT. Other professional certifications such as MCSE, CCNA etc. will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of five (5) years hands-on experience with ICT hardware.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and/or French, with a working knowledge of the other language.
  • Competence in the use of Bank standard software (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
