Executive Assistant/Office Manager

Executive Assistant/Office Manager to busy, high-level former government official and Principal of a start up strategic consulting firm in Washington DC. The firm works with senior executives of major companies -- many of them in the technology sector -- to help them expand in major emerging markets and handle the national security and public policy challenges of offering globally technologically sophisticated products and services. Job is full time and based in Washington DC. Requires scheduling, professionalism & knowledge of protocol, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and keep a busy office running, book international travel and be married to a blackberry. Previous experience or knowledge of the US government is highly recommended.


Qualifications


  • 5-7 Years of Previous Experience as Executive Assistant/Office Manager (preferred)-- can't come in cold and learn on the job.
  • Executive Branch/Front Office Government experience is highly recommended.
  • Self-starter, initiative taker. Job must be done with minimal supervision or support since the office is small and Principals travel a great deal.
  • Ideal candidate is accustomed to working independently and in a disciplined fashion.
  • Judicious, wise, exercises good judgment. Discretion is a must since the job requires the handling of sensitive information.
  • Must wear many hats. Will basically run the East Coast office/ and Principal's life. Will speak on his behalf, help manage expectations, make decisions, work with the press, schedule, book all travel, process all reimbursements, set up and manage office systems and processes etc. Basically, an Office Manager/Scheduler/Special Assistant all rolled into one.
  • Ability to multi-task & must be married to a work iphone.
  • Able to book and manage intense travel schedule -- particularly international travel (visas, flights, cars, meetings, etc).
  • Flexible/Ability to work well with people from senior government officials to Fortune 500 clients to bi-costal officemates.
  • Aware of protocol and procedures -- will work/interact with senior executives of Fortune 500 companies and must be aware of protocol/procedures/common professional courtesy.
  • Salary is competitive and bonus and vacation policy historically generous. No health insurance/retirement plan is offered at this time.
  • Target date to hire is late May (must be onboard in Washington DC for training no later than mid/late June).
