International Conflict Researchers - World Conflict Report 2012

The World Conflict Report (WCR) is seeking to establish a network of leading International Conflict Researchers interested in contributing towards producing short Two Page Country Brief for the forthcoming WCR 2012, based on a standard template.

About the World Conflict Report

The WCR (www.wcr2012.org) is conceptualized as a significant source of reference on global conflict, aimed at providing new insights and analysis on the emerging drivers of conflict in the 21st Century, which are increasingly defined around asymmetric and hybrid forms. As such, the WCR is intended to promote a gearshift in thinking away from conventional measures and approaches.

The preparation of the 2012 WCR involves extensive research and analysis, with a focus on country and regional based developments and thematic issues such as the cost of conflict. As part of the WCR Country Reporting Team, researchers would complete online entries as country reviews, to include issues such as the underlying causes of conflict, conflict incidents, opposing factions and divergence of interest, gender-based violence, impacts on poverty and regional stability, as well as common grounds and opportunities for conflict resolution. WCR is seeking to establish a global network of Conflict Researchers in the following countries, but we welcome interest from experts dealing in other countries:

  • Africa: Algeria, Angola, Central African Republic, Chad, Darfur, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Somalia, Somaliland, Puntland, South Sudan, Sudan, Tunisia, Uganda and Western Sahara;
