IFC defines the South Asia region as India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. The Human Resources Account Manager (HRAM) will be part of the Human Resources team in the South Asia Region covering IFC’s donor funded and investment related activities, with a regional focus on Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan. On a day-to-day basis, the HRAM will be the focal point for management and staff for all HR issues, from recruitment to separations, including compensation and benefits, management and staff coaching, talent and performance management, and more. He she will work closely with management on strategic staffing and organizational change management, and in coordination with colleagues in the Asia Pacific region, at headquarters in Washington, D.C. and other regions, he/she will participate in the development and implementation of new HR programs (Recruitment and Staffing, Learning, Leadership Development, Performance Management, Compensation and Benefits).

The position reports to the Head, HR Asia Pacific Region, currently based in New Delhi. For the first year, the position will be based in Delhi with intensive travel across the region and to IFC’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. If required by the business, the position may move to Dhaka, which is the region's largest office for Advisory Services.

The position is subject to local recruitment and is coterminous/donor funded.

Duties and Accountabilities:
• Advise managers and staff on HR policies and practices

• Within the guidelines of the World Bank Group, propose innovative HR approaches and solutions to complex problems using judgment and leveraging HR resources as appropriate.

• Support managers in developing staffing strategies, providing decision tools such as analysis of trends, staffing scenarios and adequate staffing levels, skill mix and work force diversity, and advising on reassignments, rotations, mobility issues, exit strategies and processes.

• On-board new staff members and provide advice on professional development and career related issues.

• Advice managers and staff on performance and talent management, and monitor the process for assigned departments.

• Assist in identification of learning needs and in consultation with the HQ based learning team, design and implement learning interventions for the region.

• Coach and advice managers and staff on all HR related issues.

• Work across regional and functional borders, such as Legal, Office of Mediation, Office of Business Ethics and Integrity and others.

Selection Criteria:
• Masters degree, preferably in HR Management, and 8+ years of in depth HR experience in the private sector.

• Proven track record in implementing organizational development, performance management and/or change management projects.

• Proficiency working with analytical tools and presenting results in a clear and concise way.

• Strive for results with an understanding of assessing the risks, benefits and possible adverse consequences of different options while solving problems.

• Excellent interpersonal, team building and client relationship skills; demonstrated capability to build the reputation of a trusted advisor for senior management as well as for staff on all levels.

• Demonstrated capacity to operate successfully in a multicultural environment and in a matrix structured organization.

• Strong communication skills in English (oral and written).

• Candidates with experience in the financial or service industry have a competitive advantage.
