Regional Education Advisor – SAR

The Regional Education Advisor – SAR will provide technical leadership, coordination and support that will help National Offices (NOs) enhance the quality of education programming, ensuring that it supports the development and well-being of children, aligns with recommended integrated programming guidance, and synchronizes education strategies in National Offices with the global education strategy framework.
With a proven track record in a fast paced, complex and ideally global organisation, you will have a desire, motivated by your Christian faith, to help others and model ethics in line with the Christian foundations and ethos of the organisation.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Lead the development and implementation of an education sector secondary strategy and business plan in support of and in alignment with regional (including sub strategies) and global strategies and priorities
  • Oversee NO participation in further development and refinement of contextualized regional strategy for education that guides and supports the NO education strategies of the region and contributes to further refinement of the global education strategy.
  • Act as a strategic regional link and focal point for the Education sector connecting National Offices, Support Offices and Global Center to mutual support.
  • Contribute to establishment and use of regional data bases and e-resources including regional good practices relating to education sector as part of wider knowledge management strategy.
  • Work closely with the members of the Project Management Unit, Quality Assurance Unit and Greenfields department promoting mutual learning, support and accountability.
REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE:
  • A degree in Education, Social Science or any related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in education development programming work.
  • Experience monitoring and evaluating child learning gains
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of DME
  • Knowledge on child development, protection issues and development programming.
