Restoring Family Links Caseworker and Outreach Coordinator American Red Cross

The American Red Cross seeks a Caseworker and Outreach Coordinator to provide Restoring Family Links (RFL) casework support and lead national level outreach for the program. The RFL program helps reconnect families separated internationally by war, disaster and humanitarian emergencies. The Caseworker and Outreach Coordinator will oversee casework for designated geographic region(s) and be responsible for implementing strategies to raise awareness of the RFL program in the United States. The Caseworker and Outreach Coordinator is expected to have experience in networking, forming strategic partnerships, public speaking as well as skills in client casework and/or social work. The position reports to the Manager of the Restoring Family Links unit within the International Services department.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Caseworker and Outreach Coordinator will work closely with the Restoring Family Links team at national headquarters and with staff in the chapter network on RFL casework and promotion of RFL services.

Specifically, the RFL Caseworker and Outreach Coordinator responsibilities will include:

•Coordinate outreach grant program for American Red Cross chapters including the application and selection process, implementation support and monitoring, collection of reports from grant award chapters and documentation of lessons learned.
•Handle Restoring Family Links casework for assigned area(s) which includes review and analysis of incoming requests for service ensuring compliance with program criteria, interpretation of policies and procedures and provision of technical assistance and support to the American Red Cross chapter network.
•Maintain current case statistics and monitor internal work flow. Research, compile, and update information related to armed conflicts, refugee and internally displaced person (IDP) activity, and other significant events for assigned casework area or geographic region(s).
•Train and supervise volunteers and interns in Restoring Family Links casework.
•Represent American Red Cross Restoring Family Links program with internal and external stakeholders.
•Implement and refine strategies to raise awareness of Restoring Family Links services in the United States.
•Revise and promote toolkits and other promotional materials for use by American Red Cross chapters in reaching out to partner agencies and community groups as well as promoting RFL awareness internally.
•Engage national level partner agencies to develop relationships as appropriate to promote and enhance the American Red Cross Restoring Family Links program
•Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s Degree required; Masters Degree preferred.
•Three years professional experience required.
•Demonstrable experience in networking with partner agencies.
•Experience in development and execution of strategic plans.
•Analytical and time management skills and the ability to handle heavy workloads and manage competing priorities.
•Experience working in the field of refugee resettlement is highly desired.
•Familiarity with the American Red Cross Restoring Family Links program preferred.
•Excellent writing skills including experience writing instructional guidance.
•Strong verbal communication skills including experience in public speaking.
•Must have strong team-building skills and experience forming partnerships.
•High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
•Must display flexibility, adaptability, initiative and teamwork.
•Must possess strong personal integrity and ability to adapt to changing situations.
•Foreign language skills, particularly Spanish, Arabic or French are desired.
