SCHR Certification Project Coordinator The Steering Committee for Humanitarian Response

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to lead a project on the certification of humanitarian organisations.
The Steering Committee for Humanitarian Response (SCHR), a network that brings together 9 major humanitarian organisations, has traditionally been very supportive of quality and accountability in the humanitarian sector. Its members initiated the NGO/Red Cross Code of Conduct, and played a key role in the creation of standards in humanitarian response. Despite these notable progresses, there has been a growing sense in the sector that the voluntary adoption of various codes and standards is reaching its limits. These largely self-regulated approaches appear to be insufficient for guaranteeing quality in the humanitarian response. Therefore, members of SCHR have made the commitment to take the question of certification forward, building on existing experiences in the humanitarian and other sectors.
SCHR is looking for a Project Coordinator who will provide leadership and manage a project with the support of an Administrative Assistant. A critical aspect of the role is to facilitate sector-wide consultations throughout the project and to ensure very close collaboration with other initiatives in the sector.
The post holder will have outstanding communication skills, experience with complex, multi-stakeholders processes, with a very strong understanding of quality management and certification/accreditation schemes.
The post is for an initial period of one year, with a possible extension. It is based in Geneva.
