MDGP Physician


Nyaya Health is a Nepali non-governmental organization working in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population and the local community in Achham District to develop the health care system. Nyaya Health is currently seeking applications for an MDGP-trained Physician for a full-time position at Bayalpata Hospital as Medical Director. Bayalpata Hospital is a full-service primary care hospital located near Sanfe Bagar in Achham district that serves an area of roughly 260,000 people.
MDGP PHYSICIAN
Responsibilities
  1. Serve as a hands-on Medical Director and leader at Bayalpata Hospital to oversee all clinical teams and clinical services – inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and surgical care.
  2. Work across the clinical and community health teams to implement protocol development, data management, referral systems, and other cross-team programs.
  3. Ensure proper hospital data management in partnership with Nyaya Health’s Director of Data and Evaluation.
  4. Work with the clinical team and Country Director to launch surgical services at Bayalpata Hospital.
  5. Conduct continuing medical education (CME) and lead a culture of evidence-based medicine.
  6. Perform additional duties as requested by the Country Director, Board of Directors, and/or hospital-based decision-making committees.
Required Qualifications
A competitive applicant will have completed his/her medical training, with graduate (MDGP) residency training. S/he must be comfortable living in a rural environment and working within a system that experiences high-patient volume (3000+ patients per month across OPD, IPD, and ER). The candidate must be willing to lead the development of surgical services, have strong experience and capabilities in cesarean sections, and be willing to lead clinical services outside of surgical care. Applicants should only apply if they are willing to sign a contract for more than one year. A 2-3 year commitment minimum is preferred.
