Vacancy Background:
International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) in cooperation with the Missing Persons Institute (MPI) is implementing a project supported by the Department for International Development (DFID) with the duration of twelve months. The project’s aim is acceleration of verification of the Central Records of Missing (CEN).
Main Duties:
1. IT Help Desk
• Install and configure workstations in networked environment;
• Hardware support for workstations, printers and network components;
• Identifying the hardware and software needed to provide solutions to problems;
• Ensuring users can use the equipment, by providing personal tuition and self-helping instructions;
• Implement system updates and replacement;
• Providing telephone, face to face and online support to users;
• Assisting with planning, organizing and maintenance of network within office;
• All other technical related duties as required;
2. Database Administrator
• Respond to custom designed database requirements;
• Provide direct user support for software developed for the use of the CEN Project;
• Responsible for administering software developed for the use of the CEN Project;
• Responsible for generating custom reports from custom designed database;
• Administer and monitor security of database;
• Provide technical support and training related to database for project staff;
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Preferable university degree;
• Working knowledge in MS Office applications and WIN-OS;
• Proficient in SQL and database administration;
• Proficient in usage of network related equipment;
• Experienced individual with hardware and software knowledge;
• Good written and spoken English skills;
• An ability to work under limited supervision and as part of a team as well as individual;
