A rare opportunity to join the team responsible for some of radio’s most respected programme including, mainly working on Radio 4's You & Yours but also Woman’s Hour, Brain Of Britain, The Verb, Pick of the Week, plus drama and documentaries.

Role

We're looking for ambitious programme makers with potential who are able to turn their hands to a wide range of output but particularly to factual programming. Ideally you’ll be a journalist with the confidence to tackle the challenge of producing daily and weekly current affairs for network radio and delivering original journalism. The vacancies are created by the transfer of Radio 4’s You & Yours programme to Salford so skills and desire relevant to this programme will be vital.

Requirements

We’re looking for people able to work in small teams and show initiative who are full of ideas and can work especially but not exclusively on You & Yours. You’ll be expected to work on journalistic programmes, taking responsibility for individual stories under the guidance of a producer. You’ll need to demonstrate a practical knowledge and understanding of radio techniques including live programmes and digital editing and webpage creation. We'll expect you to come up with original stories and be able to work to a brief.
