BBC Sports News is the part of BBC Sport that provides the daily sports journalism and news stories for the whole of the BBC. Most of Sports News is based in the Sportscentre on the ground floor of Quay House in the BBC’s offices at MediaCity, Salford Quays. The area provides multiplatform content for TV, radio and online teams and also generates sports news bulletins for Radio 5Live, network TV news and the News Channel and BBC World Service and World TV News.
We are currently seeking to recruit several Broadcast Assistants to join our Sports News team to work on providing content for our sports news bulletins.

Role

 
In this role you will primarily work with the TV Sports News output team creating graphics and preparing video material for use in the sports bulletins on the BBC News Channel, BBC World News, BBC Breakfast and network News. You will work closely with production teams and with the Sportswire ingest team taking in and playing out video and audio material. You will also be expected to occasionally help with autoscript operation during sports news bulletins.
The Sports News Broadcast Assistant will be required to work regularly on night shifts, preparing material for World Sports News and BBC Breakfast, and on weekends output.

Requirements

 
An excellent communicator and the ability to build relationships quickly and easily you will have previous broadcast assistant experience within a busy news or sport environment. With a passion for sport, you will also have experience of using digital production technology and have developed an understanding of digital recording and editing equipment.
