Head of the Department - Mobile Division Samsung Electronics - Dubai


Position Responsibilities:

       Business Management: Ownership of the Product Revenue and Margin Target for the entire region.
  • Responsible for sales/margin/profit growth.
  • Responsible for contributing to the corporate strategic growth plan via annual business audits, evaluations, and submission of multi-year business plans.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategy.
  • Responsible for preparing contractual proposals, including creative, innovative, novel, unique concepts and approaches.
  • Analyze customer requirements and promote company products, achieving and increasing all targeted revenue and profit goals.
  • Responsible for following KPI’s: team revenue, market share of all his products, AR of all his accounts, inventory status and old stock of his products, consolidated profit for all his sales.
  • Able to achieve targets as set by Management:
  • Identification and developing of cross-product opportunities.
  • Direction of the elaboration and maintenance of accounts/sectors strategic plans including competitive analysis
  • Marketing strategy, planning and implementing, creating and maintaining distribution network.
  • Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
  • Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets.
  • Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
  • Represents Samsung at trade association meetings and international events to promote product.
  • Meets with key clients, assisting sales team with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Prepares sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  • Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.
       Product Management: Responsible for pricing policy, price maintenance, price schedules, evaluation and approval of off-list prices.
  • Deciding product line-up for the region, inventory planning, Demand Vs. supply fulfilment, Product launches, Forecasting demand, competition analysis, price positioning, price strategy, profitability of the product, product mix, API control, managing ageing of inventory, managing various system requirements.
  • Responsible for developing and guiding new product programs which will ensure sustained profit growth within the business unit.
  • Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail. Develops and recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
       Sales Management:  Revenue achievement, yearly growth, target setting, achievement of management and stretch plans, target setting for distributors, operational support for area branches, setting targets for distribution partners (sell-in).  
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
       Channel Management:  Direct engagement with tier 1 distribution partners implementing demand generation activities targeted at end user, conducting channel meets and training program on products
  • Manage key modern trade account actively contributing to the development of core business strategies which drive sell out
  • Sell-out management- advance sales and promotion planning with key retailers in UAE and GCC
  • Shop-front Management- effective product presentation (display location and quality, POS material etc.).
  • Key to success will be the establishment, and ongoing development, of strong relationships with modern trade channels and the optimization of the distribution of all new and existing products to manage promotion planning and demand forecasting.  This will be done while delicately managing the existing Samsung’s relationship with the Distributor who is in charge of the commercial side of the business- such as stocking, sales and accounts receivable.
  • Effectively maintain a balance between listening to the wishes and demands of the dealers and optimizing performance and profitability for Samsung/ distributor
  • Selection of the most appropriate channels and manage conflicts in co-ordination with the Channel Sales team.
  • Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.

  • Advises dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
       Create strategic relationship with government and private sector accounts
       Staff Management: Manages and directs staff including recruitment, selection and development to achieve Company goals and objectives.
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs.

Qualifications
• Experience, Education and Licensure

  • Bachelors Degree in Sales, Marketing or Business preferred with progressive managerial responsibilities.
  • A minimum of 8 years sales and marketing experience, preferably proven experience in Telecom, Consumer Electronics or other related customer driven organizations.
  • Already possesses several contacts in the UAE market which can be quickly leveraged for promoting Samsung business.
  • Demonstrated ability to set clear expectations and communicate effectively
  • Proven track record of success in sales environment ,strong planning and organizational skills
  • Result oriented, self driven , a clear focus on high quality and business and strong negotiation
  • High Customer orientation: recognition and credibility with the customer as a trusted, collaborative and productive person.
  • Understands what it takes to win in the market place
  • High Financial Aptitude: possesses strong business acumen; numbers-driven.
    • Ability to perform and work under different conditions and a team player.
    • Experience within the telecom or mobile handset industry
