The Organisation
BG Group is a founding member of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B. V. (KPO) which oversees the development of the giant Karachaganak oil and gas condensate field in the northwest of Kazakhstan. Karachaganak covers an area of more than 280 square kilometres with estimated gross reserves of over 2.4 billion barrels of condensate and 16 trillion cubic feet of gas. The Karachaganak field is one of the biggest internationally-funded and most technologically challenging projects in Kazakhstan. 
Position Summary
  • Implement asset integrity function in KPO b.v for all operating equipment in the Field, which is on company's balance and at nominated Plant Units in order to ensure its integrity as the part of main assets.
  • Coordinate the development of advanced asset integrity, reliability methods and processes and established engineering specifications during operation.
  • Put forward proposals during the development of programs and processes to ensure compliance with RoK legislative requirement,. based on international standards and advanced production management methods. 
Key Accountabilities
  • Carry out plant integrity assurance activities in KPO b.v. on in-service pressure equipment and its auxiliaries within designated plant areas as directed by Integrity Superintendent, including
    • Pressure Vessels
    • Boilers
    • Fired Heaters
    • Heat Exchangers
    • Process and utility piping
    • Export and in-field pipelines
    • Tanks
    • Pressure Relief Devices
    • Cathodic protection
  • Perform and/or analyse findings of external, internal and on-stream inspection of pressure equipment and auxiliary integrity systems
  • Perform fitness-for-service assessments of anomalies 
  • Participate in the development and implement Risk Based Inspection (RBI) programme
  • Carry out technical supervision of pressure equipment O&M if nominated by KPO b.v. 
  • Assist in pressure equipment failure investigations
  • Assist in internal / external audits, inspections, technical evaluations and contract tender evaluation.
  • Technical supervision of contracts used in his/her area of responsibility
  • If nominated by KPO b.v. participate in the standing committee for safety knowledge assessment

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience/ Work Experience  Needed:
  • Qualification in Engineering
  • Work experience in similar roles
Specialist Knowledge/Skills:
  • Resolutions, instructions, orders, method statements and statutory materials related to equipment, buildings and structures maintenance management; profile and peculiarities of company's organization and process structure, outlook of its development.
  • Principles of company's production processes.
  • Organization of maintenance service.
  • Procedure and methods of equipment operation and maintenance planning.
  • Preventive maintenance system and efficient process equipment operation.
  • Production capacities, engineering specifications, design philosophy, function, operating modes and rules of company's equipment operation.
  • Repair and maintenance systems and techniques.
  • Equipment installation, commissioning and set up methods.
  • Compilation procedure of equipment passports, spare parts drawing books, operation manuals, ana other technical documentation.
  • Procedures of equipment handover and acceptance of equipment upon compilation of repair and installation.
  • Requirements of efficient labour management during equipment operation, maintenance, upgrading and repair equipment and tools provision.
  • Advanced domestic and external experience in respect of production maintenance.
  • Principles of production and labour organization and management.
  • Principles of environmental legislation.
  • Principles of labour legislation; occupational safety rules and standards.
