Position Summary
The purpose of the position is to manage and deliver, field development plan, basis of design, pre-sanction Production Technology work for BG Brasil. The position will support all subsurface studies undertaken to influence the operator in maximizing value of the project.

The role will also support the Rio subsurface team to support any operator engagement /influencing work, in addition to ensuring operations are in accordance with the Field Development and Reservoir Management Plans in order to maximize both daily production and ultimate field recovery.

Additionally the role will provide Production Technology support to well engineering and projects as required.
Key Accountabilities

Provide expert Production Technology / Petroleum Engineering advice and consultancy including for new developments and well interventions: 
• Pre-sanction Assess / Select Phase upper and lower completion design
• Define and develop field development concepts-carry out initial scoping studies
o Building concept integrated models to support various concepts for field development
o Carry out steady state flow assurance analysis and support transient analysis
• Flow assurance studies for wax, scale, hydrates and asphaltenes. Support specialist studies viz. understanding reservoir souring/ thermal fracturing etc.. with injection wells.
• Define artificial lift / subsea processing technologies to enhance field productivity
• Scout for new / existing technologies which can be applied innovatively to the pre-salt wells in areas of production enhancement, reservoir and well monitoring, well completions and flow assurance.
• Detailed understanding of well performance and well potential-Support production excellence efforts in the asset
• Identification of production optimisation opportunities including well interventions, and justifying data acquisition
• Evaluation of proposals for new well completion including intelligent completion technology applications like flow control and flow monitoring etc..

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience Needed: 
The following skills are required for the role, and training will be provided as required:

• Broad based understanding of the reservoir, petroleum engineering and operational issues from reservoir to export.
• Understanding of well concept design and application.
• Understanding of completion design concepts. 
• Working knowledge of artificial lift, flow assurance and production chemistry issues in deepwater environment.
• Ability to lead subsurface teams to define field development concepts
• Understanding of carbonate stimulation

Prior knowledge of the following software packages would be an advantage:
• Nodal analysis and field modelling(eg Prosper, GAP, MBAL, Pipesim)
• Reservoir modelling (eg Eclipse)
• Integrated Asset Models (eg GAP, Resolve)
• Production Data Management Systems 
• NeTool(lower completion design), WellCat( well completion design), Multiscale / Scalechem (scale prediction), Reveal, PVTP.
• Relevant degree (or equivalent experience).
• Relevant industry experience
• Should be a member of an appropriate professional organization 
• High level of international field and technical experience

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:
The successful candidate will be a qualified petroleum engineer with a BSc degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent experience. A Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer or equivalent would be advantageous too.

He/she will have had experience working within a multi-disciplinary team on an operated field or will have relevant well site / field operations experience. 

He/She will be highly self motivated and able to work independently from daily supervision. An ability to form key relationships and effectively communicate is essential as the role will require working with multi-disciplinary and geographically diverse teams. Desirable attributes:
