BBC Media Action is the BBC’s international development charity, which uses media and communications to tackle poverty and contribute to long-term change in some of the world’s poorest places.  We do this through implementing governance, health and resilience projects in partnership with civil society, local media and governments. As an Assistant Projects Manager for Asia based in London, you will strengthen our work by providing pivotal support to country offices in the region, as well as colleagues in the London team.

Role

Working in the Asia regional team you’ll be supporting country teams to deliver a portfolio of projects, as directed by the relevant Project Managers or Pakistan Project Director. You’ll be ensuring that project outputs are achieved by effective management of resources and processes, monitoring schedules and deadline deliverables. In addition you will also create risk assessments and other project materials and contribute to the editorial quality and compliance of all output.  Your essential liaison with other teams will ensure the success of your role and delivery of projects by country teams.

Requirements

You’ll bring experience from either a media or development background and successful project management. You’ll have exceptional proposal writing skills and experience of working with contracts, ideally with international development donors. Your communication will be outstanding, as will your written English. You will be able to work with budgets by preparing, monitoring and managing. In addition to this you’ll have unfaltering attention to detail and be able to build relationships globally. Naturally, experience of managing projects in an international context is essential. Similarly, your proven knowledge and interest in Asia will help you to translate your abilities into making a difference to people’s lives in the region.
