The Organisation
QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets.

We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel.

QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors. 
Position Summary
The incumbent is responsible for coordinating Commissioning for the QGCLNG Project (Upstream). To manage all electrical commissioning activities of upstream facilities, including HV infrastructure, Field Compression Stations, Central Processing Plants, water pumping and booster stations. To plan and schedule all activities, provide training programs, supervise contractors and vendors, liaise with design, HSSE and vendors.

They will also be responsible for developing the necessary commissioning philosophies, procedures and controls to support and promote a timely and seamless facility transition to Operations.

Core Accountabilities

Position Specific
• Provides an assessed response by analysing, diagnosing and using professional judgement in all commissioning activities
• Coordinate and analyse input for Commissioning Management Systems Philosophies and Manual
• Support the Completions & Commissioning Manager to ensure that pre-commissioning and commissioning activities are planned well in advance and are fully integrated with the schedules and requirements
• Prepare and review commissioning documentation
• Prepare commission plans
• Support the Completions & Commissioning Manager with the planning, coordination, execution and follow up of all pre-commissioning and commissioning activities and ensure they are done in strict compliance with the specifications
• Prepare progress reports on all commissioning activities
• Support the Principal Commissioning Engineer with the management of the Operations aspects of project interface activities in particular with Procurement, Engineering, Scheduling and Commissioning
• Coordinates the Commissioning and Completions aspects of ITTs (Invitation to Tenders) documents for all aspects of the Project
• Keep up to date records to show all certification requirements are completed to demonstrate compliance with statutory and QGC standards
• Coordinates all aspects of the various sub project schedules and the integrated project schedule
• Support the Completions and Commission Manager with all Operations aspects of the Commissioning activity for Project handover and input from FEED through to the handover to QGC Operations – Upstream, including Domestic and LNG Projects

People Management
• Coordinate project Commissioning teams in the Construction yards, vendor facilities and site facilities
• The contractor must abide by company policy in relation to HR policies and procedures such as annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes

In addition to any specific accountabilities for HSSE, all Contractors are accountable for HSSE within their area of the Business and are responsible for ensuring that their team (if applicable) adopt exemplary HSSE behaviours
• All QGC Contractors are expected to be aware of, and adhere to the Business Principles at all times under Conduct, Our People, Society and HSSE and to participate in relevant training
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience Required
 
• Experience in pre-commissioning, commissioning and start up of a large scale LNG export faculty
• Substantial experience preparing commissioning plans
• Demonstrated experience in negotiations with third parties and ability to provide guidance on project commissioning matters
• Experience in identifying potential issues and providing solutions
 
Knowledge, Languages,
Skills and Attributes
 
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in an Engineering Discipline
• Deep understanding of Commissioning and Completions programs and systems and the interface between Engineering, Quality Assurance and Scheduling
• Proficient in MS Office applications (including Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Ability to function in an environment with multiple ongoing projects
• Proven ability to provide strategic advice and successfully implement strategic objectives
• A track record of adding real value to the decision-making processes in a business with an ability to put forward his or her point of view thoughtfully and persuasively
• Superior communication and negotiation skills with the ability to understand other stakeholders objectives
• Good relationship building skills
