Fundraiser ENAR - European Network Against Racism

The Fundraiser is expected to:

  • explore new fundraising opportunities from various sources and review and update the short list of potential donors;
  • participate in the further development of the ENAR fundraising plan including a legacy programme;
  • network and represent ENAR at social events relevant for fundraising and raise awareness of ENAR’s work, aims and goals;
  • compile and submit funding applications to foundations and various funding agencies for new projects which aims are in line with ENAR’s strategic objectives and work plan;
  • strengthen relations with and increase financial support from corporate businesses;
  • explore possible partnerships with corporate businesses;
  • establish or renew relations with potential and existing donors that should lead to additional funding on 2014 and beyond.

The fundraiser should have the following abilities, knowledge and skills:

  • fluent in written and spoken English and preferably also French;
  • knowledge and/or experience in IT applications: presentations and internet;
  • skills in written and verbal communication;
  • knowledge and experience in public relation;
  • knowledge and experience in research and investigation, in exploring opportunities;
  • knowledge and experience in managing high-level privileged relationships;
  • knowledge and understanding of the NGO and business sectors;
  • negotiation skills;
  • public speaking skills;
  • presentation and reporting skills;
  • project development skills.

The fundraiser should be:

  • tactful and diplomatic;
  • assertive;
  • autonomous and initiative takers;
  • enthusiastic;
  • discrete and understand confidentiality;
  • flexible and proactive.
The fundraisers identify themselves with ENAR goals and are supportive of ENAR values.

Minimal fundraising goals:

  • fundraise co-funding for 2013 work programme (€ 50000);
  • fundraise co-funding for 2014 work programme (minimum € 150000);
  • establish fundraising opportunities for 2014 and beyond.
The fundraisers start as soon as possible, preferably not later than March 1st. The present budget allows a co-operation up to 31th December 2013.

How to apply?

ENAR is expecting to receive the tenders by 20th February 2013 (midnight) at the latest. The tender should include:
  • A detailed CV of the fundraiser detailing her/his most important achievements during the last 3 years while differentiating success rate on projects and other types of fundraising;
  • Two pages explaining fundraising approach;
  • A monthly forecast budget until 31st December 2013 (VAT included).
The fundraisers should be based in Belgium and work from home with regular meetings in-house. External contacts on various occasions with possibility of travel abroad, evening and weekend work. Flexible working hours.
