Position Description:
FHI 360 is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join the Information Services Solutions (ISS), Business Solutions team and help lead enterprise application development and delivery efforts. This position will be responsible for analyzing the operations of departments and functional units with the purpose of developing a general systems solution to a business problem that may require automation. Specific duties include assessing the business model, improving/streamlining business processes, and integrating technology, as needed, with the business functions. Specific activities may include participating in client needs assessments as well as evaluating platform feasibility and business and technical software requirements. Position is responsible for elicitation and documentation of business requirements and conducting impact assessments to understand business and application implications. Position may advise the client on improvement opportunities that solve business process and technical issues of varying complexities.
  • Leads the requirements definition, testing and deployment of SaaS, hosted, COTS, and custom application development.
  • Manages and conducts some or all of the project phases to develop or modify a system application. 
  • Serves as main liaison with business users to conduct business needs assessment and to understand and document work processes, use cases and functional requirements. 
  • Develops and analyzes solutions to business issues, including review and writing of all relevant documentation, including but not limited to stakeholder, functional and technical design requirements.
  • Design / configuration of application user interface.
  • Oversees the work of developers and/or external suppliers during the development, technical design, configuration/coding and unit testing.
  • Develops test plans, test cases and test data for unit and integration testing.
  • Manages user training including the development of training materials and procedures to accurately document the approved business process.
  • Facilitates meetings with large, diverse and geographically dispersed groups.
  • Works with cross-functional project teams to ensure quality, technical solutions are delivered to customers in a timely manner.
  • Applies in-depth understanding of the business and understands how to leverage software solutions to improve business processes. Mastery of procedure and technical writing.
  • Analyze complex data and identify trends to advise or recommend business improvements and customer solutions.
  • Defines scope and objectives for new application functionality or enhancement of system application.
  • Compiles and prepares summary of findings for Management and Business Owners and aide in implementation of process improvements.
  • Coordinates with management to determine project and task resource assessment, sizing, prioritization and timelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
  • CBAP, CCBA and/or PMP certification a plus
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical users
  • Ability to communicate business information clearly to technical staff
  • Ability to specify and plan activities for task accomplishment, initiate relevant tasks and notify management of variances
  • Ability to perform Project Management responsibilities
  • Ability to manage high volume work flow with minimal supervision
Minimum Requirements:
High School/GED and 11-13 years relevant experience; or AA and 9-11 years relevant experience; or BS/BA and 7-9 years relevant experience; or MS/MA/MBA and 5-7 years relevant experience.
