Audio & Music Interactive is a department set up within the Audio & Music division for the digital development of A&M content and brands on a range of platforms. The Audio and Visual Services team is responsible for the running and development primarily of web-based audio and visual services, including BBC iPlayer Radio, the Podcast & Download Service and treatments of “off schedule” audio, video (e.g. clips) and images. The team also works closely with platform experts in Audio & Music Interactive, contributing to the development of audio and visual services on other platforms including mobile and digital TV.
Your key role will be to act as Audio & Music Interactive’s short-form specialist, guiding A&M Production teams to plan and create high quality A/V clips and downloads in support of their programme brand in order to provide an offering that translates beyond the linear platform. You'll also co-ordinate editorial input, testing, bug fixing and project communications for FM, Interactive and Production colleagues to develop the Radio & Music Product and User Tools.
You will need to have a demonstrable passion and knowledge for BBC Radio output and associated interactive and multiplatform services. Substantial web production experience in a working environment and sound editorial judgement and written journalistic skills are also required. You will have an enthusiasm for and knowledge of radio production along with a good knowledge of using content management systems. Good photographic and image manipulation (Photoshop) skills are important - a basic understanding of digital video production would be useful. Experience audio editing and FTP software would be helpful. You will also need effective communication and interpersonal skills to be able to establish rapport with people at all levels and across all networks and the ability to work as part of a team and independently.
