The role & the selection criteria
SMEC is inviting applications for Resident Engineer position a for road projects in the Middle East (Kuwait, Qatar, the U.A.E and the K.S.A.):
Responsibilities and Duties:
- To provide necessary supervision during the execution of the works and as long thereafter as the Engineer may consider necessary for the proper fulfillment of the Consultant's obligation under the Contract.
- The Resident Engineer is to act as the Clients representative for all delegated dealings with the Contractor, Client and the Engineer, with the authority to make final decisions and executions on behalf of the Consultant.
- The Resident Engineer shall be permanently available and on site during working hours.
Qualifications:
- Civil engineering graduate with a minimum of twenty (20) years relevant experience in roads, tunnels and bridges construction and related works.
With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
