BBC Television is the biggest integrated multimedia broadcast and production group in the world. Within this, Broadcast and Publication Operations (B&P Ops) is responsible for the operational and technical delivery of all BBC Television’s linear channels and their related broadcast services. In addition, we assure Future Media’s publication of BBC Television’s content online. Delivery of the BBC’s network Playout and Access Services (subtitling, audio description & signing) is currently outsourced and B&P Ops is responsible for managing and re-procuring these strategic contracts.
As Service Assurance Manager, Content Delivery, you’ll support our Operations & Development Editor (ODE) in the day to day management of our network Playout contract. Through this, you’ll also be assuring Future Media’s delivery of BBC Television content when published online. Importantly you’ll be co-ordinating wider BBC stakeholder engagement ensuring successful delivery of all of our linear television channels and associated services. In addition, you’ll be supporting the business, workflow and technical requirements work-streams as contracts come up for re-procurement.
You’ll bring knowledge and experience of working in an operational environment either within the BBC or with another major, ‘reactive’ broadcaster or supplier. Supplementing this will be your thorough editorial understanding across the BBC’s portfolio of channels and services. This will link in to your ability to interpret transmission and editorial policies and guidelines and how these relate to linear and multi-platform content. Therefore, you’ll have an awareness of our strategic outsourcing arrangements, specifically with regard to our broadcast critical services. Complimenting these abilities will be your strong communication skills, which will show partly in your ability to manage relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
