AHF is searching for a Grants Specialist to work out of our Sunset location. This opportunity is to work on a Full Time, Regular basis. The salary is based on experience, and we offer a competitive benefits package

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Support for Grant Applications (40%)
Assists with development of federal and non-federal funding applications in an administrative support capacity including completion of attachments, supporting documentation and development of organizational charts

Responsible for drafting correspondence and MOUs to establish collaborative relationships with partner organizations that provide services in support of AHF’s program activities

Assists with final review and reproduction of funding application packages including timely delivery to funder per application requirements

Supporting Grant Writer by drafting or completing sections of grant applications as assigned including conducting research for relevant needs and demographic information, editing and reviewing pre-existing narratives 

Manages AHF Grant Fund (40%)
Responsible for receipt and dissemination of grant applications to AHF Grant Committee with timely updating of application database

Responsible for coordination of AHF Grant Review Committee meetings including preparation of all application and evaluation materials. Prepares AHF Grant Review Committee meeting minutes

Develops correspondence for grant applicants to inform of grant award decision and completes subsequent grant agreement for review by legal department 

Responsible for ensuring accurate payment processing to awarded organizations in collaboration with Accounts Payable department

Tracks implementation and end of grant reporting from grantees and ensures timely submission and documentation of program results to AHF Grant Committee

Prepares quarterly board report based on profiles of funded organizations and accomplishments due to AHF funds for presentation to Senior Management & Board of Directors

Manages Donations & Supports Events (20%)
Manage Raiser's Edge and Convio databases: input all donations, conduct queries as assigned, and performs routine maintenance to ensure database accuracy

Processes incoming donations from individuals, foundations, corporations, and events. Sends acknowledgement/tax letters to all donors per the approval of the Director of Grants and Proposals

Responsible for securing solicitation permits for fundraising campaigns and ensuring timely reporting on fundraising initiatives

Maintains and fosters relationships with internal and external stakeholders including donors and Board of Directors 

Responsible for submitting required reporting to Finance department regarding online donations and audit-related reconciliation reports

Coordinates end of year direct mail campaign by drafting correspondence and working with the Marketing Department to ensure printing and dissemination of campaign materials

Serves as point-person for third-party fundraising events that benefit AHF 

Assists in the development and implementation of AHF fundraising events as requested

Other duties as assigned

Participation in AHF Meetings/Committees
Attends meetings as requested.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2 years related work experience

Other Skills & Abilities/Qualifications
Knowledge of one of the fundraising database software including Convio and Raiser’s Edge
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to complete a variety of tasks in an organized manner
Demonstrated ability to understand and perform duties as described in position description.
