Position Summary
As a member of our Petroleum Engineering team at BG Group, you have the opportunity to gain hands on experience from day one. You could be involved in a range of activities supporting exploration, field appraisal and development planning through to operations and production. You will learn about reservoir management and well operations including completions design, well workovers and infill drilling programmes.

Key Accountabilities
Your responsibility during the IGDP is to acquire the necessary skills, experience and behaviours through your placements to enable you to take on a position at the end of the two year program. Throughout the programme you will be expected to gain awareness and understanding of developments and demonstrate capabilities across a combination of the following areas;

Production Technology:
Principals of well design
Completion design
Well integrity
Production performance, management and forecasting,
Well and reservoir management
Production optimisation

Petrophysics;
Optimisation of wellbore data acquisition
Formation evaluation to quantify hydrocarbon volumes and key production characteristics
Project de-risking using rock physics and geomechanics
Reservoir management using petrophysics to understand how to optimise production

Reservoir Engineering;
Reservoir simulation
Well test and production data analysis
Reservoir fluid analysis
Integrated reservoir modelling
Reservoir engineering in unconventional reservoirs.

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Minimum qualification: 2:1 Bachelors Degree
Preferred qualification: Masters Degree or Equivalent
Subject: Petroleum Engineering

• You will need to exhibit strong collaborative behaviours and the confidence to lead cross-functional teams to drive the best business outcomes for BG.
• You will need to demonstrate commercial edge, and at the same time, a strong ethical awareness.
• You will need to be highly organised, managing a challenging workload and employing an analytical approach.
• You will need a keen eye for detail and must be comfortable writing reports and giving presentations.
• Fluency in English is a must; given that we are a global business a second or third language is highly desirable.

Since at least one or more of your placements will be based overseas, you must be prepared to live and work away from home for extended periods. You must also have the confidence, influence, and cultural sensitivity to make the most of this opportunity. You are expected to build internal and external networks amongst peers and BG colleagues across functions and countries.
