The Smart Campaign is a global campaign committed to embedding client protection practices into the institutional culture and operations of the microfinance industry. It works with microfinance leaders from around the world to provide MFIs with the tools and resources they need to deliver transparent, respectful, and prudent financial services to all clients.

Background
In order to better understand the realities, concerns, and experiences of the clients and individuals for whom the entire client protection architecture is built – the Campaign will launch a client voice market research and learning project.
About the Job: 
The Smart Campaign is seeking a Principal Investigator - Client Voice Project. S/he will have primary responsibility for the design and execution of the research project.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for selection of a market research methodology and sampling strategy for two countries as well as overall project design and timelines;
  • In concert with Smart Campaign team and other stakeholders, develop survey instrument(s);
  • Direct client voice project manager in oversight/management of the day-to-day project operations;
  • Participate with project manager in data analysis;
  • Lead author on country-level publications for two countries;
  • Participate in the dissemination of the country-level publications through Smart Campaign-organized webinars and live events.
Qualifications: 
  • Masters or PhD in Economics, Social Science, Public Policy or a related field;
  • At least 8 to 10 years minimum background in Economics or Social Science/Market research - both quantitative and qualitative work;
  • Market experience in microfinance or financial inclusion is important;
  • Experience designing survey instruments in developing countries is critical;
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with statistical software such as Stata, SPSS or CS Pro;
  • Fluency in English with strong oral, written and communication skills, additional languages helpful;
  • Skilled at influencing diverse stakeholder groups and track record of good relationship management.
