Regulatory Reporter/Brussels

A global newswire focused on regulatory news coverage is seeking a reporter to cover legal and policy developments, high profile cases and proceedings with particular focus on antitrust, international trade and IP.
The ideal candidate will be able to grasp complex concepts quickly and have an excellent eye for detail. They will be a persistent reporter as well as understand how policy developments influence business. The right candidate will be a fast and accurate writer and have a competitive attitude toward breaking news.
This role would suit an experienced regulatory reporter or someone who possess excellent writing skills and is an outgoing person with strong knowledge and proven experience of competition and regulatory law – someone with a real feel for Brussels.
We are looking for impeccable English; other European languages will be considered a distinctive advantage.
The candidate will be a team player, as the role will require extensive cooperation with journalists around the world. The reporter will travel to international conferences and work with our teams in London, Washington, New York, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Shanghai, San Paulo, Mumbai and Sydney.
This role will entail:
  •  Breaking news on regulatory and policy developments;
  •  Writing detailed analysis of high profile antitrust cases before the European Commission, European Courts and national competition authorities and courts;
  •  Travelling and reporting live from hearings and events;
  •  Working under time pressure as well as producing analytical features;
  •  Developing intelligence tailored for readers with particular interest in antitrust and regulatory.
