Monitoring and Evaluation Manager
UTZ is expanding its effort to get a good insight in the impact of the work we undertake with farmers and the implementation of the UTZ program (certification, traceability and market aspects). To this end UTZ has multiple Monitoring & Evaluation activities. An M&E program is being set up and several impact studies are in progress. Within the framework of the M&E program, you will coordinate the UTZ Certified climate activities. You will work in a team as well as independently. You are an expert on climate and environmental activities, able to lead projects and you like to work in dynamic, international contexts.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead the growing Monitoring and Evaluation department
  • Motivate and support the team of M&E professionals in achieving the departments goals
  • Oversee the development and implementation of UTZ’s M&E program
  • Be responsible for the budgeting process, budget control and the departments year plan
  • Represent the M&E department at UTZ’s Head of Departments
  • Support UTZ’s partnership department in fundraising for M&E projects
  • Liaise with UTZ’s communications department for the development of impact communications
You are the head of the M&E department and will report to the Standards Director.
Candidate requirements
  • Master’s degree in development economics, agronomy, environmental science or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience, minimum of 5 years in a related field, strongly preferred also in agricultural contexts in tropical countries and/or certification
  • Proven track record in monitoring and evaluation and impact assessment
  • Excellent team management skills
  • Quality-minded, analytical, able to bring structure
  • Output-oriented and good communication skills
  • Project management skills, ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Fluency in verbal and written English (must have); Spanish, French or Portuguese is an asset
Employment is based upon 32 - 40 hours/week. The position is based in Amsterdam and implies occasional travel to producing countries. We can only consider candidates who have a work & residency permit for the Netherlands/EU. Please note that we will check your references at the end of the procedure.
