GSMA – Government & Regulatory Affairs department The Mobile World Congress is the mobile industry’s most prestigious annual event and this year attracted 67,000 telecommunications executives from 205 countries. The GSMA Government and Regulatory Affairs Division also provides a tailored three day government programme within this unique environment to facilitate government, regulatory and industry debate and knowledge sharing and to contribute to the year-round advocacy activities the GSMA conducts on behalf of its members. In its ninth year in 2013, the Ministerial Programme has attracted delegations from 129 countries and more than 1,000 decision makers from government and industry. The Ministerial Programme brings together Ministers, Head of Regulatory Authorities, international/inter-governmental organisations such as the EU Commission, Work Bank and various UN agencies. Please click here for more information about the program: GSMA Ministerial Programme GSMA – The Role The Ministerial Programme team is led by the Government Events Director within the Government and Regulatory Affairs department. The team is comprised of 4-5 delegate liaison coordinators, in addition to operations, content/marketing and project managers. • Coordinate all aspects of the Government delegations’ attendance including but not limited to: o Hotel bookings o Onsite transportation o Embassy involvement o Specific attendance at each event o Registration for passes o Arranging and managing bilateral meetings • Where relevant, ad-hoc translation of documents such as delegate website and logistical information from English to French/Spanish and vice versa. • The candidate will also be involved in onsite event support over the three days of the programme in Barcelona 

Criteria 
Criteria for Selection We are open to candidates from a range of functional backgrounds. The autonomous nature of this role and the skills/maturity needed are such that you will need to demonstrate at least 4 years proven track record in a highly commercial environment. Candidates with PA, Project Management or Events backgrounds will be preferred. Industry background is not important. • Excellent personal organisation, prioritisation and workload management. • Experience in delivering a project against complex and demanding timeframes. • Excellent attention to detail as well as the ability to track changes and predict their subsequent implications. • High level technical competence in standard MS Office products. Experience in CRM software and database management highly desired. • High levels of professionalism (dealing directly with Ministers, senior government representatives and CEOs) especially under stress. Mature, reliable and resilient personality. • Excellent communication skills including written and verbal, formal and informal styles and experience communicating with people from non-English speaking backgrounds. • Experience in dealing with government delegations. Awareness of government protocol and security requirements preferred but not required. • Highly self-motivated. Ability to work autonomously, problem solve and apply creative solutions. • Ability to travel internationally. • Where relevant, native level spoken and written fluency in identified language (French/Spanish) and ability to translate written documents such as website copy, letters and brochures. • Fluency in additional European and Asian language(s) is a bonus
