Program Development Manager

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is a nonprofit, Christian organization dedicated to the cause of eliminating poverty housing. Since its founding in 1976, Habitat has built and renovated more than 400,000 homes, providing simple, decent and affordable shelter for more than 2 million people worldwide. In Europe and Central Asia, Habitat works in 22 countries with partners, donors and volunteers from the region. Its regional headquarters is based in Bratislava, Slovakia.

We are currently seeking to recruit a:

Program Development Manager

Reporting to the Director of Program, the Program Development Manager is the first point of contact between HFHI and country programs in the field. As a senior manager within the program department the PDM enables strategic/innovative program expansion through healthy organizational growth, by providing effective consultation on strategic and operational management in assigned organizations/countries in the ECA region:

Detail Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Consults national organizations/partners on strategic and operational planning, budgeting, program and fiscal monitoring and evaluation, program innovation and development; corporate finance, human and financial resource allocation, problem solving;
  • Develops new programs and partnerships in order to expand the impact, scale and geographic locations of HFHI;
  • Consults, advises and develops national boards of directors and leadership;
  • Serves as first accountability point from the field to HFHI;
  • Provides regular reports to HFHI and other stakeholders;
  • Serves as coordination link to HFHI HQ, ECA office Program Department and field.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in related field required; MBA strongly preferred
  • 5+ years international experience in NGO’s and program/financial management
  • Experience in business planning and organizational management
  • Experience working with boards of directors
  • Understanding of and working experience in the Europe and Central Asia region
  • Fluent English required; fluent Russian an advantage
  • Up to 30% travel
