ECTA, the association representing pro-competitive telecommunications providers across the EU, is seeking a dynamic individual to play a vital role within its small team based in Brussels. The successful candidate will drive ECTA's relations with the European Parliament and develop and execute ECTA's wider communications and PR strategy, with a focus on promoting competition in the telecoms sector. There may also be an opportunity to lead policy for the association on privacy and online content issues, following the ongoing evaluation of the Directives on e-commerce, data retention, data protection and IPR enforcement.

We are looking for a candidate which has:

• First class written and verbal communications skills in English, and preferably proficiency in French. Other languages would be an asset;
• Extensive knowledge of the European institutions and preferably established contacts in the relevant European Parliament committees;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relations with policy-makers as well as ECTA’s wide member-base of telecoms operators;
• A clear understanding of competition policy and wider regulations applying to the electronic communications sector;
• The ability to organise their own agenda and manage projects independently as well as being an effective team player;
• At least 3 years relevant experience, working for industry, legal or consulting groups or for the European or national institutions
