Job description
To sustain its growth, Allen & Overy LLP Belgium is currently looking for a mid-level lawyer with 4 to 5 years of experience for our "Public Law" practice group in Brussels. Our Public law practice:

• forms a key part of A & O's global public law practice;
• forms a key part of A&O's international market leading PPP/PFI projects practice (which has extensive experience of advising global customers from a wide range of business sectors and national market leaders);
• is integrated in A&O Belgium's market leading real estate practice;
• provides specialist advice on public procurement, administrative and constitutional law issues;
• is actively involved in litigation and proceedings before the Belgian State Council, administrative courts and civil law courts in relation to public law issues;
• instructed by various Belgian federal and regional regulators to prepare, develop or enhance the implementation of legislative initiatives; and
• assists clients on all issues related to environmental law and planning and zoning, focussing on regulatory compliance and liability issues relating to REACH, climate change and carbon trading, construction, planning and zoning, health and safety, waste management, contaminated land, and air and water pollution.

Our Brussels team is a centre of excellence, providing other A&O offices and clients with advice on relevant EU regulatory compliance issues, including utilities, renewables and chemicals. Our crossdisciplinary teams are very proactive, are good at lateral thinking and provide an integrated service.

Profile

• You have obtained a Belgian Masters in law. As a student, you obtained outstanding results;
• You have 4 to 5 years experience as a lawyer in areas relevant to public law and/or projects;
• You are a native Dutch or French speaker with an excellent command of the other language and English;
• You like to work in a team, but you are able to work independently at the same time;
• You have excellent communication skills
