The above position now exists within the Democratic Alliance. The DA is looking to recruit a self-motivated and goal-driven individual for this position, reporting to the Parliamentary Leader and Executive Director of Communications.
The incumbent should meet the following requirements:
Education, skills and experience:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A firm grasp of DA principles and policies
- A firm grasp of the South African political environment
- Educated to degree level, preferably postgraduate. Proficiency in more than one language will be advantageous, as will managerial experience
Requirements:
- A commitment to the principles, policies and programme of action of the Democratic Alliance
- Self-motivated and dynamic
- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Preparedness to work long and irregular hours
- Systematic, comprehensive approach and excellent attention to detail
- The ability to take the initiative and strive to improve his or her performance
- The ability to accept responsibility and be accountable for work standards
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Outcomes-orientated, not simply task-orientated
- A positive, “can-do” attitude.
Key result areas:
- Provide the Parliamentary Leader with political advice
- Manage the Parliamentary Leader’s Office
- Write speeches and offer research assistance
- Offer media and communication support
- Design and manage the Parliamentary Leader’s events
- Offer administrative support.
