Working within our Middle East & Eastern Europe Regional Office (MEERO) you will be a key team member in disaster management, risk mitigation and preparedness projects for the whole region.

The Regional HEA Coordinator will be responsible for enabling and facilitating National Offices in the region to mitigate against, plan for, and respond to a range of emergencies, through ensuring disaster preparedness plans are in place, building capacity of staff in the region, engaging in research and education on industry standards and initiatives, and actively participating in emergency responses when necessary.

To do this effectively you need to have an understanding of emergency response practice and theory, be university degree qualified in a relevant field, and have exemplary skills in stakeholder engagement and project planning. Your passion for ensuring quality outcomes in times of emergency is what will set you apart, and you will be able to demonstrate the ability to be decisive, provide compelling servant leadership under pressure, as well as have a naturally inquisitive and common sense approach to problem solving. In addition your optimism, resilience, and “can do” attitude will be important, as this role will provide a combination of office and field based work, within quickly and frequently changing circumstances. Your cross cultural experience will enable you to manage a diverse stakeholder network, and you will be able to demonstrate sound communication skills, both in written and verbal English.
