LECTURER IN COMMUNICATION STUDIES

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a PhD in Communication Studies.

Experience:
University teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Experience in the supervision of postgraduate research.

Special Expertise/Areas of Concentration:
Demonstrated competence within theoretical and applied communication studies with a principal research focus on one or more communication specialties: (a) organizational communication theory and practice; AND/OR (b) communication, policy and development theory and practice. Applicants must have a sound publication record. The applicant must also be competent in integrating online educational technology to support classroom teaching. Preference will be given to candidates whose research and teaching interests complement the Department’s existing strengths.

Excellent communication skills are essential, as is a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, service and technology application in the classroom. Candidate must possess a genuine interest in helping students,
and the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
