The School of Education at the University of the South Pacific is the largest and premier teacher education provider in the South Pacific region. A position is available in it for a lecturer/assistant lecturer to coordinate science education as well as other related curriculum studies and teacher education courses at the undergraduate level.

The appointee will be required to assist in planning curriculum studies courses, prepare curriculum materials, supervise and assess student teachers in schools and develop and present flexible and distance learning courses using blended modes of delivery. The appointee will be expected to conduct relevant research and consultancy.

Applicants must have at least a Masters degree in Education. For the Lecturer’s position, a relevant PhD qualification is required. Extensive teaching experience at primary, secondary or tertiary level is also necessary. Teamwork and working with multiethnic students and staff in the Pacific Island context will be an advantage. Preference will be given to applicants with good computer, internet and communication skills.

The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.

Salary: Lecturer F$59,813 to F$78,700 per annum
Assistant Lecturer F$48,388 to F$58,066 per annum
(Inclusive of 15% gratuity)

In addition to the above benefits, the University contributes 8% of basic salary to an approved superannuation scheme, provides airfare and relocation costs where appropriate.
