Science Issue Manager Colipa - The European Cosmetics Association

Colipa, the Brussels based European trade association of the cosmetic industry represents 27 national associations and 18 international companies. It covers a wide range of scientific & regulatory issues impacting the cosmetic industry.

Role

  • Provides strategic support to the membership on science issues, analysis, manages and advises on science issues; builds and maintains relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and, as manager of industry expert groups, contributes to development of industry positions and policies .
  • Reports to the Director Research and Project management

Main Responsibilities:

  • Issue management
    • Monitors priority science issues, act as focal point for membership and colleagues on the assigned issues
    • Keeps members informed, creates issue ownership and takes action
    • Facilitates consensus building on the assigned issues in the industry
  • Internal/External network
    • Builds and maintains the internal/external network on the assigned issues
  • Prepare reports and positions
    • Prepares reports and industry positions, prepares minutes of meetings, helps to create communication materials on the issues.

Requested profile

  • Master of Science – relevant discipline (Pharmacology/Toxicology, Veterinary / Medicine, Chemistry)
  • 2-3 years professional experience, relevant for the position
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health/consumer issues (cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, chemicals...) would be an asset;
  • Strong organisational skills, team player and service mindedness. Responsive, pro-active and capable of providing efficient support to the Director of the Research department as well as to work with a certain level of autonomy;
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English/proficient computer literacy
