Senior Banker, Transport Team, southern and eastern Mediterranean

This is a defining point in the history of the southern and eastern Mediterranean (SEMED). It’s also a pivotal time for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). We’re expanding into the region, ensuring the stable economic growth demanded by the people who live here. It’s a unique moment – and you can be part of it.

About the role
The Transport Team finances private and public sector projects in areas that range from railways and roads to aviation, shipping and logistics. But that’s not the only reason why this role offers so much variety and responsibility. For you’ll help drive growth throughout the new region by structuring and closing infrastructure transactions using the full range of debt and equity financing instruments. And your work across the whole project life cycle will encompass marketing, origination, project screening, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, signing, execution and project monitoring. On top of this you’ll share your know-how with junior colleagues, guiding them to encouraging their progress.

About you
Thanks to substantial investment bank or project finance experience with a major international financial organisation, you’ll have impressive banking/ transaction skills and be expert at structuring operations. Not only will you have proved you can prepare, appraise, financially structure and implement investment projects; you’re also likely to be familiar with a range of infrastructure debt and equity financing instruments. It’s important too that you’ve worked in the SEMED region or are thoroughly familiar with its business environment. And you’ll certainly be fluent in English, French and Arabic. Add strong team working, communication and interpersonal skills and you could soon be helping us make people’s lives better.

About us
Owned by 61 countries, the European Union and the European Investment Bank, the EBRD supports projects whose funding needs cannot be fully met by the market. We have operations in 29 countries from Central Europe to Central Asia and we are currently expanding into the southern and eastern Mediterranean. Our work covers a huge variety of sectors and projects. And while each one of them is unique in the challenges it presents, all share the common goals of encouraging private investment and promoting secure and stable market economies.
