ATLANTIC LNG CHAIR IN ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING
Qualification:
PhD in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
Experience:
Considerable related academic and professional experience, including:
a. Teaching and research at the tertiary level
b. A record of distinguished original work; and a good research record in peer reviewed international journals
c. Outstanding success in, and wide recognition of professional activities
d. Corporate membership in a reputable professional institution
e. Active engagement in industry
f. Proven success in grant applications
Considerable academic and professional experience, including teaching and research as evidenced by a good record of publications in international archival journals and corporate membership of an international professional institution.
Areas of Specialisation:
Candidates should have academic and professional experience in water supply and waste water engineering and should be actively involved in pursuing research in this area. In addition, the candidate should also have such experience in one or more of the following areas:
a. Preservation of natural eco-systems
b. Solid waste engineering
c. Remediation of contaminated sites
d. Water quality impacts from point and non-point pollution sources
e. Clean industrial technologies
f. Mitigation of industrial pollution
Special Responsibilities:
1. Leadership to the Environmental Engineering Programme
2. Coordination of postgraduate programmes
3. Supervision of student research projects
4. Development and execution of research projects
5. Delivery of Lectures in the Department’s graduate and undergraduate programmes
Personal Attributes:
1. Must possess good mentoring and leadership qualities
2. Must be a team player and possess good organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills
