Cullinan Diamond Mine is situated in the town of Cullinan 30km east from Pretoria. The Mine is currently mining at a depth of 747 metres using mechanised trackless block-cave mining.

Job description: The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance of underground equipment and construction of new projects in accordance with sound engineering practices and equipment specifications.

Minimum required qualifications and experience:
Qualified Boilermaker with Trade Certificate at recognised/accredited institution
Code EB (08) public driver’s licence
Post-trade test experience as a Boilermaker in engineering projects and construction
Pass Vienna Assessment (Level 2) (test to be done on mine).

Duties and responsibilities:
Install crushers, conveyor belts, rock breakers and various other projects
Investigate, diagnose and perform trade-related maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery according to the maintenance requirements
Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health Safety Act regulations, manufacturing and company standards
Develop, modify, construct and install related equipment required for the safe operation of all engineering equipment
Identify spares requirements and order according to departmental procedure
Complete maintenance job cards
Ensure personal and co-workers’ adherence to and compliance with security and the Company’s SHE objectives
Work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice, and report any observations of this not being done.

Other skills/competencies:
Independent, self-motivated, proactive thinking and ability to do own job planning
Sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English
Willingness to work shifts and overtime if and when required
Multi-skilling will be an advantage.
