(5-year contract)
Salary: R434 505 - R511 837 per annum (all-inclusive flexible remuneration package. Conditions apply. The flexible portion of the package can be structured according to the individual’s personal needs) (Ref. OC 21/2011)
• V&A Waterfront, Cape Town

Requirements: • A recognised B degree/diploma in the Natural Sciences, Engineering Sciences or equivalent qualification • Extensive experience in fleet management • A good understanding of relevant environmental legislation, policies and procedures • Experience in financial and supply chain management, staff management and leadership • Proven project management experience • The ability to analyse and interpret technical and scientific data • Excellent communication (including writing) and presentation skills.

Duties: The candidate will be responsible for the strategic and day-to-day management and further development of the Sub-directorate. He/she will be expected to: • Develop effective working relations and agreements with relevant sector departments, key stakeholders and organs of State • Ensure effective and efficient management of the vessel operations, including maintenance planning • Manage small boats, vehicles and capital items • Ensure effective communication • Represent the Department in applicable international forums • Manage financial resources • Provide technical oversight.
