Financial Capacity Building Manager

The role As a member of the international programs finance team, you will: • lead the overall capacity building and training activities for the finance function throughout the organisation • perform finance capacity needs assessments and identify and implement appropriate training methods and plans to meet these needs • assume responsibility for ensuring country office finance procedures are up-to-date, communicated and consistent with other organisational, statutory and donor guidelines • coordinate the training and support provided to regional and country office staff in relation to finance (excluding the financial management system itself) during and after the transition of country offices to Save the Children International (SCI) • deployment of the Roving Financial Controller to support country offices where there are resource gaps or mentoring needs.

Required skills and experience • qualified finance professional (preferably ACA or CIMA) with experience of operating in a global and complex organisation • significant experience in training and development • knowledge of principles and methods of curriculum and training design, adult learning theories, and the measurement of training effectiveness • extremely good documentation and communication skills are required. Good presentation delivery and facilitation skills are required • willingness to undertake significant amounts of travel to the country and regional offices for training, support and capacity building purposes • experience of working in a NGO finance role in developing countries highly desirable • knowledge of international non-profit financial management practices would be an asset • knowledge and experience of working with technology/systems desirable • commitment to Save the Children values
