Responsibilities
  • Check and verify accounting journals prepared by Senior Executive, Finance.
  • Ensure maintenance and updating of Master Tracking List of Projects for WWF-Malaysia
  • Review and coordinate signing of funding agreements and advice the Manager, Finance Sector on projects funding issues and/problems that requires investigation.
  • Assist Project Managers/Team Leaders/Unit Heads with planning and preparing project/unit/sector budgets.
  • Prepare and disseminate the monthly financial reports for the organisation on a timely basis.
  • Provide assistance to Manager, Finance Sector to prepare timely Financial Management Reports for presentation at Senior Management Team (monthly), ExCo and Board of Trustee meetings.
  • Participate in all quarterly & mid-term budgetary reviews and/or revisions to existing budgets, i.e., review and analyse project expenditures vs funding, cash flows and provide sound financial advice to project executants on projects expenditure trends, budgeting and financial related matters.
  • Prepare and review the quarterly R3 Financial Reports and other donor financial report and ensure timely reporting to donors.
  • Consistently provide high quality services to the donors via timely response to their requests, e.g., ensure accurate financial reports submission.
  • Ensure that Procurement Policy & Procedures for the purchase of all organizational and/or projects’ equipment and assets are adhered (within allocated budgets and/or in line with donors’ requirement).
  • Grants to 3rd parties - Prepare and coordinate the signing of the grant agreement; Review the grantees financial reports; Effectively manage grant disbursements to third parties;Ensure grantee adheres to the grant agreement financial conditions.
  • Provide assistance and input into the organisation’s annual budget processes.
  • Provide assistance towards the co-ordination of the organisation’s annual audit process by external auditors.
  • Participate and attend Strategic Management & Operations Department (SMOD) Sector Leaders, departmental meetings and in all Conservation Department’s Quarterly Technical Progress Meetings for projects.
  • To ensure that the confidentiality of data stored is protected.


Requirements
  • Possess degree in Finance and/or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA) with at least 5 years of work experience in similar field.
  • An all-rounder and proactive self-starter, analytical, meticulous and well organised with a low tolerance for inaccuracy.
  • Knowledge of audit processes, good technical accounting background inclusive of but not limited to financial accounting, budgeting, cash flow management, internal financial controls and reporting principles, methods, techniques and standards.
  • Good business communication skills for correspondence (English and Bahasa Malaysia).
  • Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel) is a must.
  • Knowledge of AccPac accounting systems would be an advantage.
  • Good interpersonal skills, innovative thinking, versatile, ability to work in a team and work independently.
  • A general understanding and appreciation of the nature of the business WWF-Malaysia operates and its departmental philosophy.
