OH&S Advisor
Reporting to the OH&S Superintendent, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing safety and health support to the operational departments. This is a pivotal role which enables you to contribute to the team and make a difference at Darlot Gold Mine.

Major accountabilities will include:

• Provide first aid treatment in the event of injury or illness on site;
• Review Incident Reports and make recommendations;
• Complete all statutory reports for the Mines Department;
• Carry out procedures as directed by the OH&S Superintendent including safety and induction training, safety and health promotion;
• Provide advice and support to site leaders and employees in the application of and compliance with OH& S policies and procedures;
• Coordinate injury management and return to work programs and workers compensation case management;
• Advise departments on matters concerning prevention of accidents and injuries;
• Carry out safety audits and inspection to support leaders in maintaining a safe work environment;
• Develop and review standard work procedures and assist with Job Hazard Analysis;
• Conduct training with the Emergency Response Team.
You will require the following attributes to be successful in this role:
• Paramedical or Nurse Qualification;
• Advanced first aid and life support skills;
Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety or progress towards same;
• Current “C” Class Drivers Licence;
• Ability to effectively communicate with the workforce and the general community;
• Ability to work effectively within a small professional team;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Ability to Influence others to achieve best practice through own actions and words.
The following attributes would be desirable:
• Experience working on a mine site or remote location;
• Certificate IV qualifications in Training and Assessing;
• Level III certification in emergency response for metalliferous mines or equivalent;

This position is offered on a fly in/fly out basis from Perth on an 8 shifts on / 6 shifts off roster. Excellent on-site accommodation is provided. Recreational facilities include internet café, Foxtel , swimming pool, tennis courts and gymnasium.
